What to Expect/FAQ

How does it work?

Because each person has different issues and goals for counseling, it will be different depending on the individual. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs. I primarily specialize in treating anxiety and post-traumatic stress/trauma.

How long will it take?

Each person is different in terms of how long they will need to attend therapy. Some folks need a few sessions and others may need therapy for a year or longer. It really depends on a lot of factors.

After a few sessions, we may be able to gauge the length of time/commitment that will be necessary to find healing. Though we will start with weekly sessions for at least a few months, we may find that the frequency can be reduced to biweekly or even monthly sessions.

It may be possible for you to expedite your therapy process through an EMDR Intensive and avoid spending months/years in therapy. Research is showing that intensives can be a powerful and healing experience and may facilitate a quicker healing process than regular weekly therapy.

How do I meet with you?

If you prefer in-person sessions, I work in Lakewood on Mondays/Wednesdays and I see folks in Boulder on Fridays.

If you prefer virtual support, online therapy (telehealth) is a great and convenient option.

Telehealth allows me to provide counseling and therapy via live video conferencing. This can be done anywhere you have an internet connection, computer or smartphone.

Telehealth appointments are available for those who currently reside in Colorado or Florida.

I am unable to see clients who live outside of those two states.

What are your hours/availability?

I hold office hours Mondays (9-2), Wednesdays (9-2) and Fridays (8-5) for individual/hourly therapy. Please inquire with me directly about specific appointment requests.

I offer retreat-style EMDR intensives over long weekends (either Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday). I am also accepting clients for EMDR Intensives.

How often do we meet?

I meet with clients on a weekly, biweekly and monthly basis. I strongly encourage any new clients who are wanting to expedite their therapy experience to consider whether or not doing an retreat-style EMDR Intensive is a good option.
